Description:
The VDV-15100/20100/25100-PPE transformers all are equal, except the primary impedance is 1,5 or 2 or 2,5 kΩ. They all are improved versions of the famous XC462 push-pull transformer. These powerful output transformers can handle full 100 Watt power at approx. 30 Hz and above. The Ultra Linear taps are at 40 %, while secondaries are 0/4/8 Ω. Their -3 dB frequency range is remarkable large, ranging from 1 Hz to approx. 80 kHz. Many power tubes can be used with these transformers, ranging from 4 x EL34 up to 4 x KT150 in a high-end power amplifier. How to choose which type you should use? This depends mainly on the B+ supply voltage. If B+ = approx. 350 Vdc, then select 1,5 kΩ. For B+ = approx. 450 Vdc, use the 20100-type. For B+ environment 550 Vdc, use the 25100-PPE version. These OPT’s belong to my most sold designs (old number is XC462) with remarkable clear tube sound quality.
