Description:
This Single-Ended output transformer is the “Real Beast” with power capability of 90 Watt, and a primary impedance of 5 or 10 kOhm. Now the famous high voltage triodes like the 211 & equivalents like 845 and CV4 can be applied, single or paralleled.
In the Netherlands many experiments and products were developed by Bert Fruitema. Unfortunately he never published his designs. He applied B+ voltages over 1 kV and was worried that customers or DIY-ers might not be able to safely handle such dangerous conditions. I have heard many of his designs, I even recently repaired such a beast of an amplifier. While listening, I once again got deeply impressed about the superiority of his designs.
If you are a very experienced specialist or DIY-r, this transformer might be the good challenge for you. The late Harvey Rosenberg wrote about this transformer: “Menno knows how to shake the Single-Ended world “. If you know what you are doing, and if you reach for the SE-top, then this OPT is the right starting point.
