In the TubeSociety Project-2025 LTSpice simulation was used for optimizing stereo-push-pull tube-amplifiers with EL84 / 6V6 / KT66 / KT77 / …, easy delivering 2 x 10 Watt stereo. The results will be published around September 2026 in the TubeSociety Project-2025 reports. A special power transformer (MAINS-E) was developed for high-end applications with extra headroom for active power supply stabilization.
The high voltage B+ winding delivers 240 V-ac, which results in 339 V-dc after rectification and buffering. This winding has an ac-current capacity of 400 mA-ac. After rectification and buffering the maximum continue dc-current equals 240 mA-dc. These B+ voltage and current allow amplifier designs up to an output power of 2 x 10 Watt.
For trimming the quiescent currents with negative bias voltage a 25 V-ac winding plus a 35 V-ac winding are present. Also two separate filament voltage windings with 4 A current capacity each, allowing multi power tube application.
Compare the specs of Mains-D and -E to see that Mains-E has extra power supply headroom.
